Netrouting: A Story of Growth and Commitment

Netrouting was founded in 2007 as a hosting provider of High Quality Dedicated Servers, catering to the needs of small, medium sized as well as large organizations. With our headquarters in The Netherlands, we have grown significantly over the years and in addition to our Dutch facilities, we now also operate from data centers in Sweden and the United States. Our main aim was to create and offer a hosting environment that functions as it should.

Our original vision for our hosting solutions for businesses over the years still holds true today. Our team of experts with a real passion for what they do, strive to ensure that technology works for every customer.

Timeline

From a Dutch startup to a global infrastructure provider

2026Netrouting announces a revamped product suite, new website, new client area, and a service-automation stack rebuilt around the AS6206 backbone. Customer-facing API surface, instant-deploy bare metal and cloud compute, single-pane support across all regions.
2025Through parent company Ellada Holdings LLC, Data Facilities Data Centers (DFDC) breaks ground on the first 1.75 MW build-out in The Netherlands. Across the wider footprint Netrouting refreshes core network gear at every edge location and expands rack space and power capacity at all sites.
2024Ellada Holdings LLC, Netrouting’s parent company, acquires the real estate of the The Hague data center. Netrouting retires the entire legacy Netherlands network and replaces it with an enterprise build on Nokia optical and IP. Core backbone is upgraded to 400G connectivity end-to-end.
January 2023In a strategic move, Savvas Bout, founder of Netrouting, reclaims the European division of ColoHouse, thereby reestablishing the independent operations of Netrouting. This pivotal acquisition not only includes the prime Netherlands data center but also extends to the comprehensive operations throughout Europe and Hong Kong, along with a segment of the hosting portfolio in Miami, FL. With this decisive action, Netrouting is set to continue its legacy of excellence in hosting services.
January 2018In a transformative merger, Netrouting infused ColoHouse, previously renowned for its space and power offerings, with advanced service automation, a portfolio of multiple data centers, and comprehensive hosting services. This synergy enhanced ColoHouse's operational capabilities, propelling the company into a new era of data center solutions and global connectivity.
April 2017Netrouting enhanced its global reach by inaugurating a new connectivity hub at 60 Hudson St in New York City, thereby solidifying its U.S. network infrastructure. Additionally, we broadened our portfolio by introducing Bare Metal and Cloud Compute services in New York, while simultaneously establishing hosting operations in Hong Kong to cater to the Asia-Pacific region.
September 2016Netrouting celebrated a milestone, achieving ISO9001 and ISO27001 certifications, and broadened its Bare Metal and cloud compute locations to Bucharest and Frankfurt.
August 2014The Hague welcomed Netrouting's second data center, a modernized former Vodafone hub, which later commenced operations in January 2015 and integrated into the company's regional fiber network.
September 2012Netrouting took a strategic leap by acquiring Datahouse's Spijkenisse facility, revamping it into a fully redundant power, cooling, and connectivity hub, and launching the Data Facilities Data Centers brand.
April 2010Marking its entry into the US, Netrouting unveiled its operations in Miami, FL at the ColoHouse data center, featuring secure, redundant power and network connectivity solutions.
January 2010To accommodate the rapidly increasing demand in the Netherlands, Netrouting expanded its operations with Datahouse, investing in a significant 200kW development.
March 2009Launching its own backbone, AS47869, Netrouting joined forces with AMS-IX, pioneering the integration of high-speed bandwidth and elevated access to AMS-IX and Tier1 carriers into regional data centers across The Netherlands.
January 2009Embracing a vision for broader horizons, Netrouting ventured into new territories, setting up a robust infrastructure in Stockholm to cater to the growing demand for Bare Metal and Virtual Server services.
