BYOIP & BYOASN on Netrouting: Bring Your Own IPs and ASN—No Router Required

Netrouting lets you announce your own IP prefixes and ASN on our network without deploying your own edge router. This is available to all bare metal customers and is free for all resellers. If you prefer full control, you can also run your own BGP sessions using our turnkey Nokia VSR and VyOS images on our optimized cloud compute with dedicated NICs (Proxmox-based).

Resellers can further leverage our EVPN fabric to pool servers into private VLANs for both public and internal networks (companion article to follow). Start or scale a white-label hosting business, keep your existing routing identity, and avoid IP renumbering headaches.

What Is BYOIP?

BYOIP (Bring Your Own IP) means you use your own IPv4/IPv6 prefixes with our infrastructure. Benefits include:

What Is BYOASN?

BYOASN (Bring Your Own Autonomous System Number) lets you keep your routing identity (ASN). On Netrouting, you can announce via our backbone without running your own BGP router—ideal if you want ASN branding and policy control without managing edge hardware.

Eligibility & Requirements

• Proof of IP prefix ownership (e.g., whois / registry object)

Letter of Authorization (LOA) Requirements

Before we can begin announcing your IP prefixes or ASN over our network, we require a signed Letter of Authorization (LOA). This document must be provided on your organization’s official letterhead and signed by an authorized representative. The LOA confirms that Netrouting (ASN 6206) has your permission to advertise your IP space and/or ASN from our infrastructure.

Quick Start: BYOIP/BYOASN with Netrouting (No Router)

1. Open a ticket and attach your LOA (and ROA details if using RPKI).
2. Specify origin ASN, BGP communities, and any policy preferences.
3. We configure announcements on our edge; you confirm reachability.
