A Journey Through Netrouting’s History
The Early Years (2007-2011): In 2007, Netrouting was born in a small room at home in The Netherlands. Starting as a one-man shop, Netrouting built servers from scratch, offering traditional dedicated servers and web hosting services. As the demand for their services grew, so did Netrouting’s ambitions. By 2011, Netrouting had expanded into new markets, establishing a presence in Stockholm, Sweden, and Miami, Florida, while also introducing virtual server (VPS) offerings to their portfolio.
Expansion and Acquisitions (2012-2018): In 2012, Netrouting incorporated the Data Facilities brand and strategically acquired one of the Datahouse facilities in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This was followed by another acquisition in The Hague in 2014, solidifying Netrouting’s presence in the region. Between 2014 and 2018, Netrouting continued to expand its reach, adding strategic locations in Frankfurt, Bucharest, New York, Chicago, and Hong Kong. These expansions laid the groundwork for Netrouting’s growth and innovation in the years to come.
A New Chapter (2018-2023): In 2018, Netrouting and its affiliated subsidiaries were acquired by U.S.-based data center operator Colohouse. Netrouting Founder Savvas Bout joined Colohouse as CTO, supporting the company into a new chapter of growth and innovation with a strong focus on the U.S. market. In 2023, Savvas Bout acquired the European division of Colohouse, including the former Netrouting assets, and separated from the group. This marked a new beginning for Netrouting, setting the stage for exciting developments in the years ahead.
The Present and Future: As we celebrate our 17th anniversary, Netrouting is proud to announce plans for a full infrastructure upgrade for our network and data center. This includes the immediate release of our new website, which features added bare metal inventory and new cloud computing plans.
