Our History

Founded in 2007, Netrouting has continued to develop and set new standards to meet the needs of the market and its customers.
From a small Dutch company with just a few servers, we grew into a thriving worldwide business, with customers in over thirty countries.

  • 2023

    January

    The European division of ColoHouse is acquired by Netrouting Founder, Savvas Bout and separates from the group. The acquisition includes the Netherlands data center, operations throughout Europe and Hong Kong, and a part of the hosting portfolio in Miami, FL. The division will resume trading as Netrouting under leadership of Savvas Bout.

  • 2018

    January

    Netrouting was acquired by one of their longtime partners ColoHouse – leading provider of colocation services and second most connected facility in Florida. With this merger, we were able to further strengthen our position as a global solutions provider and expand our reach into different markets. CEO of Netrouting, Savvas Bout,  joined the ColoHouse Team, as Chief Technology Officer, as will his entire team based in the Netherlands facilities.

  • 2017

    April

    Netrouting adds connectivity hub at 60 Hudson St in New York City, further strengthening its backbone in the U.S. Bare Metal and Cloud Compute offerings added in New York and Hong Kong.

  • 2016

    September

    Netrouting receives ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditation for its data centers. Netrouting adds locations for bare metal and cloud compute in Bucharest Romania and Frankfurt Germany.

  • 2014

    August

    Netrouting opens its second data center in the city of The Hague, The Netherlands. Netrouting completely retrofitted the facility that was previously used as a connectivity hub for Vodafone and started service offerings in January of 2015. The facility interconnected with our regional fiber ring, joining our Spijkenisse facility and 3 other carrier hotels.

  • 2013

    December

    xenEurope, provider of budget Xen based Virtual Servers consolidates and integrates operations with Netrouting's KVM based Virtual Server offerings to support growth strategy. Netrouting launches Cloud Compute offerings.

  • 2012

    September

    In September of 2012, Netrouting acquired former data center operator Datahouse's Spijkenisse (near Rotterdam, The Netherlands) facility and completely retrofitted it with redundant power, cooling and connectivity

  • 2011

    September

    Netrouting acquires OpenVZ provider Vazapi and further strengthens its position as a Virtual Server provider on the East Coast U.S.
     

  • 2010

    April

    In April of 2010, Netrouting expands into the U.S. market with a presence at the Netrouting data center in Miami, FL. Our initial deployment included caged off space with access to redundant power and connectivity.

  • 2010

    January

    Netrouting signs for an additional 200kW build-out with Datahouse to support rapid growth in the Netherlands Bare Metal market. 

  • 2009

    March

    Netrouting launches its own backbone under AS47869 and becomes an AMS-IX partner, being one of the first to bring high-speed bandwidth and access to AMS-IX and Tier1 carriers to regional commercial data centers in The Netherlands.

    January

    Furthering our growth strategy, Netrouting starts expanding into other markets and deployed infrastructure to support Bare Metal and Virtual Server offerings in Stockholm, Sweden.

    March

    In 2007, Netrouting was founded and acquired Sparkle IT Solutions. Founder of Netrouting, Savvas Bout, was quickly able to adapt and grow his business across borders to stay competitive and innovative in the ever-evolving IT landscape.

Our brands

Prefixx is an IPv4 service provider, specialized in brokering deals for buying and selling IPv4 address space in the ARIN, RIPE and APNIC region. Our team is headquartered out of Miami, FL and has successfully transferred hundreds of thousands of IPv4 addresses since 2018.

The LayerSwitch Internet Exchange (“LSIX”) is an internet exchange point based out of The Netherlands. Our goal is to help bring connectivity from the main connectivity hubs in Amsterdam to regional data centers in The Netherlands.The exchange has been active since 2017 and has over 90 participants as of January 2023.
