In short. Every customer is screened in the background. Some customers are asked to verify their identity, their business or their address, according to rules that are the same for everyone. A specialized provider carries out the checks; Netrouting never holds your documents. Most customers never see anything beyond their ordinary signup.

1. Purpose
Netrouting provides hosting and network infrastructure. Knowing who we contract with is a condition of doing that responsibly. Our customer verification program (KYC/KYB) exists to prevent fraud and payment abuse, to protect our network and our customers from misuse, to meet the legal obligations that apply to us, including sanctions, export control, tax and invoicing rules and lawful requests from authorities, and to let us offer appropriate payment and credit terms. This policy describes what the program does. How personal data is handled under it is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. The same rules for everyone
Every customer goes through the same program. How much of it applies to a given account is decided by rules that are the same for every customer, never by who is asking: the type of service, the size of an order, the countries involved, the outcome of earlier checks, and whether the customer resells our services. Most customers never see anything beyond their ordinary signup.
3. Screening
We screen every customer's name and company against sanctions lists published by the European Union and the United States and against other public sources, at signup, at every order and payment, whenever account details change, and at regular intervals for as long as the account exists. We compare the billing country with the country of the payment instrument, of the connection and of any document shown to us. Business customers are additionally screened for politically exposed persons and adverse media. Screening asks nothing of the customer.
4. Verification
We may ask a customer to verify their identity (a government-issued document and a liveness check), their email address and phone number, their company's registration and the person acting for it, or their address. We ask when a rule in section 2 is met, when a screening needs a human decision, when a verified account changes its identifying details, or when a member of our staff records a reason. Resellers of our services always verify before activation. The practical steps are described in our verification guide.
5. Who does it, and what we keep
Verification is carried out by a specialized verification provider on its own secure pages, under a data processing agreement with us. We send it the name, email, phone and company name on the account to check against. We receive the result and the match verdicts; we never receive or store documents, photographs, dates of birth or document numbers. The provider deletes what it collected [90 days] after a check concludes. We keep the record that a check happened, its outcome, and the type and issuing country of the document, for the life of the account and as long as the law requires afterwards.
6. While a verification is open, and if it fails
An order that needs a verification waits for it and is placed automatically when it passes. Nothing is charged while an order waits. A required verification that is left unfinished leads, after reminders, to renewals being paused and services being suspended; both are lifted the moment it completes. A failed verification, false information, or a result that means we cannot establish who we are contracting with or that we may serve them leads to orders being declined and, if necessary, services being suspended or terminated under our Terms and Conditions. Where the law requires it we retain rather than refund a payment.
7. People decide
A billing country we are prohibited from serving is refused automatically. Every other decision that affects an account is taken by a member of our staff, and any customer can ask for a decision to be reviewed by a person through support or legal@netrouting.com. We do not always say which rule or source led to a decision, because explaining a refusal would help someone evade the next one.
8. Changes
We update this policy as the law and our program change. The version on this page applies. Material changes are announced to customers by email before they take effect.
