Netrouting maintains a customer verification (KYC/KYB) program as part of its compliance with Dutch, European and United States law, including sanctions and export regulations that apply to the provision of hosting and infrastructure services directly. Compliance with these obligations is a condition of doing business with us.
Verification of orders and accounts
Orders and accounts may be subject to verification before, or at any point after, service activation. Where verification is required, it takes one of two forms:
- Individuals complete a check with a valid government-issued identity document on the secure page of our verification provider.
- Businesses confirm their company registry information, largely pre-filled from official public registers.
Verification is applied proportionately, on a risk basis, under the same rules for every customer. Providing accurate and truthful account information is a contractual requirement under our Terms of Service. Incomplete or false information, or a verification that is not completed when required, may result in an order being declined, an account being suspended, or services being terminated.
As part of our continuous compliance obligations, we may periodically re-verify customer information, including for existing accounts, and we re-screen accounts when their details change.
Data handling
Verification is performed by a specialized, accredited verification provider. Identity documents, photographs and dates of birth are processed and retained exclusively by that provider and never on Netrouting systems; Netrouting receives only the outcome of the check. Provider-side data is deleted on a fixed schedule. All related processing is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, as described in our Privacy Policy.
A document issued by a different country than your billing address is not in itself an obstacle: verification establishes identity, not residence.
Review
Verification cases are overseen by Netrouting staff. A customer who believes a verification request was made in error may contact support; each such case is reviewed by a person.
