You can install any Netrouting bare-metal server from the Reinstall tab in the Amóni portal, then reinstall it as often as you like. No ticket, no charge. Below is what's on offer and how a reinstall runs, followed by the two cases you can't handle yourself: licensed systems, and custom installs from your own media.
The images
You get the same list at checkout (the Operating System option) and on the Reinstall tab of a running server. Versions change as distributions ship new releases, and the tab always has the current set. At the time of writing, it looks like this:

Each Linux image installs unattended and comes up with SSH open and your stored keys already in place. Routing appliances (VyOS, Nokia VSR) and other vendor images aren't on the list. For those, talk to sales.
Reinstalling from the portal
Find the server under Servers and open its Reinstall tab. Pick the image and set the hostname. Decide whether you'll set a root password or let us generate one, then choose a disk layout: the image default, one of our RAID and single-disk layouts, or one you saved under Install Profiles. Tick any stored SSH keys and post-install scripts you want, and confirm. The server reboots into the installer and comes back up on the new system, typically in 10 to 20 minutes. There's no charge for reinstalls and no limit on them. If the installer can't reach the server, or a reinstall fails, open a ticket and we'll look at the machine. That's free too.
Licensing
- Windows Server: we install it, you license it (bring your own license). Once the install finishes, activate it with your own key. If you'd prefer the license on your invoice, ask sales about a managed configuration.
- VMware ESXi works the same way. We install it and you license it.
- CloudLinux, cPanel, Plesk and the like are licensed separately. The image only installs the base system.
- Everything else on the list is free software, so installing and running it costs nothing.
Custom installs
If it isn't on the list, or it needs a layout the installer can't produce, it's a custom install. You have three routes, starting with the one you do entirely yourself:
- Do it yourself over the console. Through the server's management interface, attach your installer image as virtual media and boot from it. The steps are in open the remote console. It costs nothing, and partitioning and packages stay entirely up to you.
- Custom disk layout on a standard image. Save a layout once under Install Profiles (software RAID, LVM, ZFS, partition sizes), then select it on the Reinstall tab. This one's free as well.
- Ask us to do it. Open a ticket with the operating system and version, the partitioning you want and whether you're supplying the ISO. We'll agree on a maintenance window with you, mount the media, do the install and hand the server back for you to check. We charge a flat fee per install. The rate can change, so ask for it in the ticket; we confirm it before we start. Having us manually reinstall a standard image is free the first time and costs the same fee after that. That's the reason the Reinstall tab exists.
Which one to pick
- Web hosting with a control panel: AlmaLinux 9 or Rocky Linux 9, with cPanel or Plesk installed on top.
- General servers, containers, most applications: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian 13. Each gets about five years of updates, counting Debian's long-term support.
- Several virtual machines on one box: Proxmox VE 8 or 9. When you want a cluster, add a private network and a second server.
- Windows applications: Windows Server 2022 Standard. Have your license key at hand.
- Two ports bonded: any Linux image can bond. On Ubuntu, follow configuring bonding on Ubuntu with Netplan and ask us to set up the port-channel on the switch.
Questions we get
- Can I keep my data across a reinstall? No. Every disk in the layout is wiped. Copy your data off beforehand, from rescue mode if the system won't boot anymore.
- Where is the root password? If one was generated, the Reinstall tab shows it and the server page keeps it for 48 hours. The completion email has a one-time link to view it, never the password itself. A better option is to store an SSH key and skip passwords altogether. See SSH keys on Netrouting.
- Is the image up to date? We refresh images regularly. Run the distribution's update command right after the install anyway.
- Can I switch from Linux to Windows later? Yes. It's a reinstall like any other, so have your license key ready before you start.
- Do cloud instances use the same list? No. Cloud instances have a separate template list (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, CentOS Stream, FreeBSD), which you'll find on the Rebuild tab.
